Building WASH facilities in schools in Uganda

Overview

This project aims to enhance schools’ infrastructure, including water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) facilities, as well as the associated knowledge and skills for improved sanitation and hygiene practices.

This initiative targets primary and secondary schools and their surrounding communities, including those in refugee-hosting areas. It's part of a broader initiative, Gender for Development Uganda, with the overall objective of improving access to education, particularly for adolescent girls. It addresses some of the key barriers to adolescent girls’ education, such as financial and infrastructure obstacles, including inadequate WASH facilities in schools.
